The Recycling Factory

1) General

The Recycling Factory, a division of Dynamic Cassette International Limited (DCI) shall be referred to in these Terms and Conditions as "TRF" and the supplier or proposed supplier of inkjet cartridges as "the Account Holder". These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire understanding between the parties for the supply of empty inkjet cartridges.

2) The Price

All prices are quoted net of VAT or other taxable charges and are subject to change without notice.

Prices advertised on TRF’s website only apply to those Account Holders who have signed up via the website, unless otherwise stated.

Price lists are reviewed and/or changed on or around the 1st of each month.

3) Acceptance

Inkjet cartridges

TRF will accept inkjet cartridges listed within their respective price list section that adhere to the following requirements:

  1. The cartridge must have been used only once and must not have been refilled in any way (exceptions may apply, where we will pay for non-virgin items where it is indicated on the price list).
  2. The original brand label must be present and intact. Intact means the label has no holes or tears in it and no obvious attempt has been made to remove the label.
  3. The printhead has no visible signs of damage (i.e. small dents or scratches).
  4. The cartridge is undamaged and completely intact.
  5. The cartridge must not have been refilled or reused in any way.
  6. The cartridge must pass any applicable electrical tests.

Please note that we do not accept empty laser toner bottles, laser waste tanks or cartridge ribbons.

TRF is unable to accept items sent from outside of the UK.

4) Passing of Title

TRF shall assume full title to all items upon receipt.

TRF does not accept responsibility for any goods lost in transit or which are not accepted as receipts for any reason whatsoever.

TRF will not accept receipt of any items for which postage has not been fully paid. TRF will arrange for the safe disposal of any items that do not meet the requirements as stated above.

5) Allocation of Value

Once TRF has accepted receipt of a returned item and confirmed that the item complies with the relevant requirements in section 3, an amount per item, as shown in the relevant price list, will be allocated to the Account Holders Return Account.

6) VAT Registered Account Holders

If the Account Holder is VAT registered, this must be declared when signing up for a recycling account with TRF. The Account Holder must contact TRF via info@trf-uk.com in order to indicate this, and supply their VAT Registration number. VAT requests are automatically generated and emailed on the 1st of each month, providing the account balance reaches £20.00 or more. The Account Holder must provide a valid invoice for the amount that has been requested, plus VAT.

Please note VAT requests that have been outstanding for more than 6 months, for which we have not received an invoice will be removed, and subsequently no payment(s) will be made.

7) Settlement of Accounts

TRF currently offers the following settlement methods for amounts owed:

  1. Payment by bank transfer
  2. Donation to charity (inkjet cartridges only)
  3. A credit against an account balance
  4. PayPal
  5. Miscellaneous

a) Payment by bank transfer

TRF will make payment via bank transfer to the bank account specified by the Account Holder. Bank transfer payments are processed monthly and will only be made once the account recycling balance reaches £20.00 or more. If the account balance is below this level at the time of transfer, the amount due will remain on the account until such a time as the £20.00 limit is reached. Where receipt of payment is disputed by the Account Holder, investigation and the repayment of any monies will be solely at the discretion of TRF.

b) Donation to charity (inkjet cartridges only)

Once the item(s) has/have been sold, TRF will donate 100% of the value of the item to the charity you have chosen to recycle for. You will not be notified of the amount donated and will not be able to reclaim your donation.

c) A credit against an account balance

Customers who purchase products from DCI/Jet Tec can arrange for the value of their recycling fund to be offset against their account balance. This is available only for customers who are currently registered as resellers, and who have a valid and open account with DCI/Jet Tec. Customers who are enrolled on the credit scheme, can only redeem the values offered for items in credits; cash equivalents will not be offered. Credit can only be redeemed when the recycling balance exceeds £10.00. Customers may change their DCI/Jet Tec credit account to a cash account, however, existing credit on their DCI/Jet Tec account is non-transferable. If a DCI/Jet Tec customer does not use their credit balance on their account within a one-year period, the balance shall be cleared and no credit or payment shall be allocated to the customer thereafter.

The values offered for inkjet cartridges may change in accordance with the cash account price list.

d) PayPal

TRF will make payments via PayPal to those Account Holders who sign up via the website and select PayPal as their preferred method of payment. PayPal transfers are processed weekly with no minimum recycling balance required to receive the payment. Existing Account Holders who wish to move to the PayPal payment method must contact TRF via info@trf-uk.com.

e) Miscellaneous

TRF may from time to time undertake checks to identify accounts that show no activity within a 12-month period. Those accounts which show prolonged inactivity and have a balance of less than £20.00 shall have their account cleared, and a donation made to a charity of TRF’s choice. TRF reserves the right to transfer any monies without prior consent from the customer, and no payment will be made or transferred to the customer before, during or after this process has been actioned.

We endeavour to make all payments within the payment terms period offered under the scheme agreement (this may be monthly or quarterly as agreed), from when the consignment was processed, where possible, as long as the correct details have been included. At busy times of the year we cannot guarantee payment within this period.

8) Price List Changes

TRF reserves the right to change an Account Holder’s price list and their classification at its discretion and without notice. If you send in items, we will pay the current value at the time of processing, not the time that the items were posted.

9) Processing of Consignments

Consignments are processed on a first come, first served basis, and as such during busy times of the year, it may take up to 14 days from when we receive your items, to process them.

All Account Holders who supply an email address during the account sign up process, shall receive a confirmation email when their consignment has been processed, and their items categorised.

Disputes over quantities, models, makes, branding and/or value of any item(s) returned shall be investigated at the sole discretion of TRF. Where an investigation does take place, the outcome of the investigation by TRF is final.

Due to the volume of items returned, TRF is unable to return any items to the sender, whether or not they are faulty or are requested to be returned during dispute.

10) Postage and Collections

Inkjet cartridges

TRF does not take any responsibility for the loss or damage to items during transit. It is strongly recommended that all customers pack their item(s) to minimise the risk of damage. In addition, we recommend that all items that are to be sent back to us that have a high value, should be sent at the customer’s discretion using recorded delivery.

All items returned to TRF should be done so accompanied by the appropriate account number. If applicable, accounts should have their barcode label affixed to the packaging, and this should be clearly visible.

If items are not clearly marked with the account number, TRF cannot be held responsible for any problems with the processing of these items.

TRF has the right to refuse to arrange collection of any shipment of product it does not wish to accept.

11) Competition Terms and Conditions

From time to time, TRF may run competitions via our website or social media channels. There is no entry fee and no collection necessary to enter these competitions.

Employees and their family members or anyone else connected in any way with the competition(s) or helping to set up the competition(s) shall not be permitted to enter the competition(s).

The rules of the competition and the prize for each winner are as follows:

  1. We reserve the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible.
  2. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
  3. Winners will be chosen at random from all entries received.
  4. The winner will be notified by email or private/direct message on either Facebook or Twitter within 24 hours of being chosen. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 7 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
  5. TRF’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final.
  6. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  7. The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current [UK] data protection legislation.
  8. This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter or any other Social Network.

12) Amendments or Withdrawal

TRF reserves the right to amend or withdraw these Terms and Conditions without notice to the Account Holder. At all times, an up to date copy of the Terms and Conditions in place are posted on our website at www.therecyclingfactory.com/terms-buy

13) Privacy Policy

In order for TRF to complete its contractual obligation to an Account Holder, TRF will need to collect information about the Account Holder. To create an account and process consignments TRF needs to know the Account Holder’s full name, full address, email address, telephone number and bank details.

TRF may share your personal data with companies within the DCI group to send information about relevant products or services; however, we will not share your personal information with any external companies.
