The Cheeky Girls accepted a cheque worth £36,495.52 on behalf of ChildLine at a networking event in London’s West End on Tuesday 12th December.
Jake, The Online Social and Professional Gay Networking Community, has chosen ChildLine to be their Charity for 2007. It invited the charity to attend its Christmas Party in the VIP area at fashionable nightclub Number 5 Cavendish Square. The Romanian duo accepted the cheque on behalf of ChildLine whilst wearing a fabulous prototype dress made purely out of the recycling bags, designed by Leeds student Jilly Gray, in a bid to encourage consumers to recycle.
Adrian Murphy and DJ Rocks will also be performing during the evening and Jake will also be hosting an auction to raise more money for ChildLine.
William Studholme, director, The Recycling Factory (TRF), stated: “In the UK, we are increasingly aware of the issues affecting our environment but there are a distinct lack of initiatives in place to help us act upon these concerns. The Recycling Factory gives companies and homeowners alike, the satisfaction that making a difference and going green can bring. We are delighted to have raised so much money for such a worthy cause and to be presenting it at such a fashionable event.”
