Sense
Registered Charity No. 289868
Sense is the leading national charity that supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deafblind.
Deafblindness is a condition which can leave families feeling helpless and isolated. Sense’s vision is of a world in which all deafblind children and adults can be full and active members of society.
Most of us take for granted that 95% of our knowledge about the world is received through stimulus to our eyes and ears. Deafblind people have to rely on the remaining 5% this is received through their other senses or what little useful sight and hearing they may have.
Sense works with deafblind people and their families to provide expert advice and information as well as specialist services that will help them to make the most of the abilities they have. We work to ensure that everyone challenged by deafblindness or sensory impairment with other disabilities, has access to advice, opportunities and support.
Our services range from day services and Sense-run houses in the community where deafblind people have the opportunity to learn new skills and live as independently as possible, to holidays for deaflind children that enable them to broaden their horizons and attempt activities they could never dream would be possible.
By recycling for Sense you are helping to change the lives of deafblind people and their families all over the UK.
