Welcome to Lives Recycling Page
Founded in 1975, The Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service (LIVES) was initially a Doctor run organisation developed to work alongside the Emergency Services at serious trauma accidents. Today their First Responders are trained to deliver basic life support, early defibrillation, patient assessment, oxygen therapy and general patient care.
The charity started with no funds and doctors had to purchase their own equipment. By the 1980’s, they managed to establish a radio-communications system in order to improve the efficiency of callouts. In 1999, the Chief Executive of the Ambulance Trust invited LIVES to develop a first response team for heart attack victims. LIVES saw this as an extension of their existing service and readily agreed to participate. It was agreed to call this part of LIVES ‘The First Responder Scheme’.
During 2010, LIVES have responded to more than 13,000 calls, and their 130 First Responder Groups throughout Lincolnshire have saved over 30 lives.
