Frequently Asked Questions

What do you do?

The Recycling Factory collects, recycles and remanufactures inkjet and toner cartridges and mobile phones through our various collection schemes. We process all items on-site and do not commit to landfill. Any items that we are unable to recycle are either broken down or are passed to third party companies who can break them down instead.

Why do you do this?

Millions of inkjet cartridges, toner cartridges and mobile phones are simply thrown away each year. Some of these items contain hazardous materials that can take years to decompose and have a negative affect our environment. By collecting, recycling and reusing these materials, we can stop them going to landfill and help save the environment.

Why should I recycle?

By recycling your empty inkjet and toner cartridges and mobile phones, you too could be helping the environment. You can also raise additional revenue for yourself or help raise vital funds for a charity of your choice.

What should I do next?

If you only have a few items that you feel would be suitable for recycling, you can simply request some freepost envelopes to place your items in and post directly to The Recycling Factory. Alternatively, you can sign up for a free recycling account, request freepost materials and start earning additional revenue for yourself or for one of our charity partners.

Can anyone recycle?

Yes, our schemes are tailored so that you get the best possible benefits from recycling your items. Whether you are an individual, a charity, business, school or club, we can find the perfect solution to your recycling needs.

Do you take all cartridges and mobile phones?

We are able to recycle the majority of HP, Lexmark, Canon, Samsung, Dell, Kodak and Kyocera cartridges. Unfortunately, we are unable to recycle cartridges for Epson and Konica. We can accept any make and model of mobile phone, although there are only certain models we pay for. We do not recycle radio phones or house phones. Individuals recycling for cash will need to check against the list of recyclable cartridges as to whether or not your items have any value.
