Recycling helps achieve hearty donation for Nation’s heart charity

– UK Recycler and British Heart Foundation Exceed Target Donation –

UK-based recycling company, The Recycling Factory, is thrilled to announce that together with the British Heart Foundation (BHF), it has raised in excess of £30,000 for the charity. This was made possible through the recycling of inkjet cartridges and mobile phones, and by all of those BHF supporters that kindly donated their unwanted items.

The partnership has been moving from strength to strength since the collaboration began in early 2012, and 2013 promises similar success. Donna Wingfield of The Recycling Factory said: “We have been working alongside the BHF for just over a year now and it has been an absolute joy. Recycling is a great way of being able to help raise vital funds for the charity, and be kind to the environment at the same time. We’d like to thank BHF supporters for generously sending in their unwanted items to help achieve such a sizable donation.”

The BHF provides support to the 2.7 million people in the UK living with coronary heart disease. Donations like these go towards the charity’s life-saving research, care and support, working to beat heart disease.

£30,000 could fund 6 months of specialist heart failure nursing*, changing the lives of over 1,000 heart failure sufferers. BHF heart failure nurse specialists provide expert care and advice to heart failure patients in their own home and these nurses decrease hospital re-admissions and improve patients’ quality of life.

Amit Aggarwal, Head of Corporate Partnerships at the BHF, said: ”It’s fantastic that our partnership with the Recycling Factory can have a direct impact on for those living with heart disease. We are so very grateful to the Recycling Factory and people across the UK who have donated goods for recycling.”

By working together to recycle, individuals can really make a difference to the environment, and support the BHF at the same time. The charity will receive up to £4.50 for each cartridge that can be successfully recycled and up to £30 for every recyclable mobile phone.

It’s a simple, free scheme that everyone can become involved with. To request BHF recycling envelopes, call The Recycling Factory team on 0800 091 0696, or visit: www.therecyclingfactory.com/bhf
